Kircher’s Ars magna sciendi extends the Lullian combinatorial tradition into an immense apparatus for producing propositions across domains of knowledge. Its iconic operation is the schema: alphabets, classes and combinatorial tables transform finite sets of principles into potentially unbounded sequences of statements. The work explicitly evaluates the Ars Lulliana as a method capable of supplying large numbers of attributes, propositions, questions and arguments, then multiplies this logic through its own schematisms. The theoretical contribution lies in treating knowledge not merely as accumulated content but as something that can be generated through an architecture of relations. Enumeration, classification and permutation become epistemic techniques. What matters for a contemporary reading is not Kircher’s universalist ambition as such, but the idea that a designed system can externalise thought and make relations operational beyond the memory or intuition of a single author.
